My sound designer recently told me that when changing 23.976 fps audio to 24 fps in preparation for DCP, the sound will be a slightly higher pitch. So, he asked me if he could finish in 23.976. As the DCP requires 24, I have to finish in 24 fps. Is there a way satisfy both him and the DCP guys? Before sending the final video/audio for DCP, I can export the video in either fps. Sorry if this is a revisited question, but I never had this problem before. Thanks.

Talk to the people making your DCP. My understanding is they can take 23.98 and it will encode as 24 because DCP projection is 24 to ensure compatibility worldwide.

The speed difference between the 2 is 00.01 %, it’s not even 00.1%. I doubt most mortals can hear that small of a pitch change, so nothing to worry about.
