Preparing 24p MPEGs for Encore
Can anyone explain the best way to prepare 23.976p MPEGs for Encore. It wants to convert them to 29.976i everytime. The manual’s explanation of how Encore handles and recognises 24p/23.976p is rather ambiguous. Do I have to apply 3:2 pull down and some sort of 24p flag? My preferred encoder is CinemaCraft.

Yes, your assets need to be 23.976i with the progressive flag set. That’s part of DVD spec.
