    Hello;
    When exporting a Quicktime for the web in Final Cut / Avid. Is it necessary to prepare for internet streaming? It’s my understanding that checking the box further compresses the beginning of the movie. Are most players (youtube, netflix, iTunes etc) now doing that natively when uploading your content to their servers? Would it be better to deliver the media without prepping it for internet streaming and allow the player to do the compression?

    If you are delivering a file that’s going to be flipped to another format, that box won’t make a difference.

    Fast start was used so you could watch a movie while it downloaded. Hinted stream was a stream that was “pushed” to the client computer, so to speak.
