Prep for DVD – Animation Codec or 10-bit uncompressed
Hi Everyone,
I have a video I’ve edited, originally shot in DV. I added some livetype titles. I’ve read that when exporting to compressor to make a DVD, you should export from an uncompressed sequence in order to preserve the livetype graphics. My basic question is this: Should I export from a sequence rendered using the animation codec or the 10-bit uncompressed option and why?
My video uses some layering of basic mattes, borders and dissolves. Do these features make a difference in choosing how to assign the compression of the sequence?
I’ve read that the animation codec has an alpha channel. Does the 10-bit option have this? Does this make any difference given that some of my video tracks are layered in my sequence, the titles are slightly transparent and I created some basic mattes and borders?
Thank you for your help.
