Tried to install PremPro 2 on Vista Business 64-bit. It installed OK, but when I tried to open it, it quits during the initialization process.

    Any thoughts? Thanks

Stick to XP x86 for 32-bit apps like PPro. You don’t want to get to a point where you think you have it working and then the day before a deadline you hit a snag you can’t resolve.

I’ve been running PPro2 on XP-64 for over a year with no problems. Installed Vista Business 64 and it won’t open, that’s why I wonder if it just won’t run on vista 64.

The keyword is it “should” work. We have a machine that has been working on Vista x64 for a year as well without issues.

But incompatible drivers or hardware certainely could cause issues. Not much of an advantage in performance anyway.

I would say stick to XP as well unless you have a machine that won’t take it. Incredibly you can’t put XP on some new HP machines (no drivers), which gives you another excuse to build your own.
