Hello guys last week i made a videoshoot for a music video. The camera i used was Sony A7 iv and i made some shoots on the following modes. 4k 30fps on video mode and 1080p 120fps – 24fps rec on S&Q mode.Today i wanted to start editing them but once i import the 120fps – 24fps rec video on the timeline and i press play the video on the preview screen is stucked but the time keeps running.Once i stop the video the preview screen shows the frame that is on the video. The sequence is 24fps exactly like the video. It is the first time i see something like that.I am on mac and my premiere version is premiere cc. If anyone can help it would be more that great.!

P.S. sometimes once i push the play button the premiere crashes.

I remember running into this issue before earlier this year in Premiere Pro. I believe sometimes you will have to find a file within the timeline that caused this crash because for some weird reason a specific file that is placed in the timeline can cause crashes like this and once I removed it, it works better. However if its something you absolutely need for your timeline of your video, I would suggest converting that file to a more supported format for premiere pro if it has not already and then replace that corrupted file with the more supported file of the same thing and then try rendering it if it gives you a better result. Hope it helps and best of luck! 🙂

Have you converted to a Proxy or ProRes for editing?

Yes i did it! I have some questions.

    1. Is a Prores 422LT file lower quality from the original?
    2. How can i link the proxies to the original files so once i will edit my project to export it with the original quality?

I wouldn’t go back to the “original” version unless its RED/ARRI/BMD/etc….

Anything from Sony and Canon AVCHD or whatever it is you can skip.

Export final using ProRes (archival/edit) or h264 (web/sm delivery).

I forgot to ask, did this process fix your viewing issues?
