Hi, I just got a Canopus EZDV capture card off ebay dirt cheap. It was all I can afford at the time and with canopus’ track record I didn’t mind paying the price I did for it.

However, I am having some real problems getting the card to work with Adobe Premiere 6, I found this website (below) which claimed you have to use the provided software. I am used to editing with Premiere and have a job which I have to get completed a.s.a.p and simply do not have the time to learn this new package. Can anyone advise me? Can I get the card to work, or am i out of luck?

    Hope someone can help.

Yeah according to the article you’re out of luck.

If you have another regular OHCI card with firewire that should work.

When I was using Premiere 6, I eventually just scrapped my card (a Pinnacle DV500) and went software only. (The crashes seemed to magically disappear…)

But again, you can’t use the EZDV card with Primere.

    Sorry about that.

As a sidenote, I don’t know how you paid for the card on eBay, but you can upgrade from 6 to Pro 1.5 for $199, that is probably better use of your money. I would consider that.

    Thanks mate.
I contacted canopus (i had to wait 3 days for a reply) and they claim it is fine with premiere, you just have to download some updates from thier site.
    I’ll try it later.
    Fingers crossed.
