As the title says, Premiere is refusing to import my clip correctly.

So there I was, chugging along, quite happy when I realized that this long clip was not all appearing in the project window. So I got over, re-exported it as AVI and try again. Nope. It keeps ending at the same spot. I’ve checked the clip numerous times and it is still 9 minutes long but all that will appear in Premiere is about 90 seconds. I’ve tried over and over to change this. I’ve even gone so far to cut off the first 90 seconds that will appear in Premiere so that there is no way that file should be turning up. Nope. Only the first 90 seconds—-even cut off—stubbornly appear.

This is the project from hell officially. It should be a simple c&p but Premiere continues to mess up, eat frames, etc.

I really miss Final Cut Pro.

What codecs are used in the AVI? Try decompressing the file before import.

I’m guessing on a divx clip.
If so convert it to dv-avi and your problem will be solved.
