    Hey All,
I`ve shot a music video. I’d like to arrange the different takes in premiere multicam mode. Then I’d like to transfer the project to after effects to do the blending. But with the Multicam Mode in Premiere I only get one layer with all the cuts. But for blending takes/layers in AE I need two layers! Is there a way to do that? I appricate your help, best regards, Simon

Automatic Duck does this for several nle products going to AE.

I have never used Premiere but you’re saying the export to AE comes in as a single clip or as a single layer that has all of the individual cuts in it? Can’t you separate the cuts into separate layers?

“Blending” would not be a good use of the hassle of going back and forth. You’d only bother to go to AE for effects and motion graphics elements that are not available directly from within Premiere.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

David, manually separating them into layers doesn’t help. You’ll just end up with each ‘clip’ on it’s own layer with no lead-room or end-room. For any transition you need some extra time for the transition to take place, but Premiere is exporting it without any leadroom.

Just moving the clips earlier is no good because the audio will be out of sync.

I’d love to know an answer, as well.

    Hey David,
as Allen in the other post explained it, Premiere exports the multicamera view with sharp cuts (no lead and end room), and exactly that is the problem. Of course, I’m talking about effect blending for AE, not conventional blending which could be done in Premiere.

    Anyone got a clue?
