I’ve always noticed the vertical title roll I have as my regular ending to videos I edit is a little jumpy… well while trying to see if I could make it smoother I found some distressing things.

It’s made in the essential graphics panel which uses it’s own method of animating the title with an ease in and ease out… so i don’t see keyframes. I typically export h264 for the web.

First I tried exporting just the titles at a bit rate higher than I would ever use… hardly any difference… still all jumpy and wiggly looking.

Then I tried Quicktime prores442… OMG, it looked horrible… it made the titles look like something completely different, like they were 60fps or something, what was a smooth motion with the text itself looking a little ghostly on the edges became like when you watch the Sopranos at 60fps and all the magic is gone. … and STILL all jumpy

So what the heck???????? Anyone know the solution to this?

It seems that the issue may be related to the way the animation is being rendered.

Did you try to adjusting the frame rate of your project? If your animation is jumpy or choppy, it may be because the frame rate is too low. Try increasing the frame rate and see if that makes a difference.

Another thing to check is the settings of the Essential Graphics panel. Make sure that the motion settings are set to “smooth” and that the animation is set to ease in and out.

If neither of these solutions work, it may be helpful to try rendering the animation as a separate file and then importing it back into your project. 😅

This should help to isolate any issues with the animation.
