  • Premiere says media is offline but they are not

Posted by Philippe Gosselin on April 7, 2016 at 4:13 pm

    Hi all,

I am trying to render my project and two shots, that are from files who are online, are rendered with the red offline warning.

I tried to reveal both in the project panel and the explorer and indeed they are there and in the project panel it doesn’t say “media offline” in the the Media Type column…and, of course, when I hit Play, both shots plays fine. This only happens when I render the sequence and it happens whether I render in Premiere or Media Encoder.

I’ve tried emptying the preview folder to no avail

    Any advice?

    Thanks

Try to delete your media cache and see if it solves the problem.

    Nope, that didn’t do anything.

I tried save the project under a new name = nothing

I copied the supposedly missing files in another folder and replace the footage with the copies and that seems to have done it.

    Thanks!

I have run into this once in a while too. I rename the folder, then replace the media, and it is good to go.

Adobe CC 2014 (as of 7/2015)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
