Premiere RED export issue
Hi,
I am currently cutting a trailer for a clients film. The footage was shot on RED and came to me as PICTURE LOCK at 2048×1080. I know the DCP print should be 2048×858 (I think so if I’m correct anyway)
NOTE: the pic lock footage came to me with some black bar on top and bottom of picture already.
I started a new sequence and just dropped the movie into the timeline and changed the sequence settings to match the picture:
editing mode: custom
timebase: 23.97
frame: 2048×1080
video previews: QT (desktop)
codec pro ress 4444
1919×1011Okay so the issue is when I go to export, If I export w/ sequence settings I get the same black bars at top and bottom, which are not much but they need to go.
Also, I tried manually setting export settings to 2048×858 and it ended up squishing the height and I received black bars all around the export.I mentioned this to the editor and he said this should be auto cropped when printed on the DCP but I’m prepping this for web and I need to find a fix.
I’ve attempted creating a new sequence w/ the 2048×858 as the start settings but that just cropped WAY into the footage on the top and bottom.
Any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance!
