I’m working on a project that I edited in premiere, and then loaded the premiere project into after effects to color correct. I just imported the premiere project like it was it’s own footage and it kept all my cuts intact on different layers. The thing is, I am nearly done color correcting about 300 shots, but need to tweak a few cuts and ripple the rest of the cuts just as they are. Is there any way to bring this project back into premiere and have my new edits be recognized in after effects. I tried just editing the project that I had in after effects, saving it, then opening after effects, but my new edits were not there… Any help is greatly appreciated.

Because you do not use the actual project in after effects but rather a new after effects project is generated from the premiere file instead, you must update changes manually. A good way (not great) to do it is to use the copy/paste method in AE 6.5 to copy from premiere the new changes and pasting into after effects. the cool thing is that ae places the new clips at the exact time it was instanced in premiere then you can copy and paste the effects parameters to the new clips.

    It’s not perfect but… maybe 7.0
