Premiere problems on MacBook
I’ve just crossed over after years on Windows machines to a MacBook Pro. For awhile, Premiere ran just fine. Now I can’t get video to play. The video will play for a few seconds, then the audio drops out and then the video freezes. I’ve tried clearing the media cache. I’ve tried moving all of my media from an outboard drive to the system drive. Of course, I’m on a remote and crunching trying to get stuff editing for a show that needs to go up this afternoon. Any suggestions?

Turn OFF open CL acceleration. It makes the Macbooks unstable. You are probably overheating too, but I was told by Apple techs that the MacBook Pros are designed to overheat and eventually just die on set while producers and directors are watching 🙂 “No, it’s operating as designed, it’s within spec”. Over 200^ F – ouch that’s hot!
At that temp the motherboard will probably fry 1 day after Apple care expires. Good luck!

Try with Open CL on and off.
