  • Premiere Pro will not play video from QuickTime made in FC

I made a QuickTime in Final Cut and brought it over to my PC so I can make a Flash CS3 movie. The QT video does not play but the audio does play just fine. I put it on the Premiere timeline and same thing. I tried to open it with a QT player on the PC and same thing. This QT plays OK in FC and on the Mac but will not play the video on a PC. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

In QT look at the Movie Information (Apple + i Mac or Ctl + i PC). I’m guessing its one of two types. Apple Intermediate HDV codec or ProRes422. if its the latter ProRes, you can download the pc decoder for it from mac.com (google it). if its the former, Apple HDV, your out of luck, apple refuse to make this codec cross platform. You’ll need to re-export it.

It could also be DVC ProHD, which is also not available outside of FCP…
