Is it possible to import a Premiere Pro CS5 project using the 7 to X application?

I do appreciate some of the power in X but at this point do not feel comfortable using it for something beyond a simple project. I have considered editing in 7 or CS5 to do much of the work then import that project into X for some editing but mainly “finishing” the project. I know this may sound like a rather odd workflow but each NLE does have its own strength and weakness. I am currently deciding whether to do the main editing in FCP 7 or Premiere Pro CS5 at the moment. I do love After Effects and Motion, both are great tools. I thought I had decided on X but now I am not so sure. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated, even constructive criticism.

    [David Mathis] “even constructive criticism.”

Leave editing behind forever and list producer on your business cards.

    🙂

A Pr CS5 translation is going to be very tough. CS5.5 is better, CS6 even better.

If you’d like, you can send me a CS5 XML, and I can translate it to FCPXML to you to see if you like it (or if it works).
