November 13, 2014 at 11:13 amI just solved this exact problem for me (Video was washed out in VLC and Vimeo after exporting, but not in Windows Media Player.)
The problem was in my NVIDIA Control Panel.
1. Open it up, go to “Adjust Video Color Settings”,
2. Under “How do you make color adjustments?” select “With the NVIDIA settings.”
3. Under Advanced tab, set Dynamic range to: Full (0-255)
4. Apply the changes and it should be fixed.
