Premiere pro to OMF Audio for Pro Tools
Posted by Deleted User on May 31, 2007 at 5:18 pmHello,
Does nayone know how to get an Adobe Premiere Pro timeline’s audio exported into OMF audio then it can be opened in a DAE such as Pro Tools with all the timeline in-tact?
Automatic Duck Pro Export from Premiere pro to OMF audio they have stopped making this. I know Final Cut Pro and Avid cann all export to OMF so seems Premeir eis lacking in this area.
Anyone had any experience?
Thanks,
Leo

Avid and Apple belong to the AAF(Advanced Authoring Format) consortium which decided to support AAF as the universal interchange format, Adobe implemented AAF years ago in the anticipation of the rest of the consortium following, you should be asking Avid why they are dragging their feet.

May 31, 2007 at 10:56 pmAvid have moved on since than and now use the MXF format. It is the default for all new installations.
I guess Premier Pro will be playing catch-up again! 😉
MXF support in PPro would be a very welcome addition.
Automatic Duck was the best option but they seem to have rather abandoned PPro concentrating instead on AE. Sadly missed.
WAV files is an option but messy and time consuming.

May 31, 2007 at 11:21 pmYou can export a AAF file from Premiere and import that into ‘AVTRANSFER’ and then get it to create an OMF file (but be prepared to take out that bank loan!)
BazWhat would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!

June 1, 2007 at 1:58 amHello,
Be nice for the MXF support, as well as the ability to work with the Sony XDCAM HD as well like in Final Cut Pro. Hopefuly in the next release Premiere may have these tools.
I am an Adobe fan but seeing FInal Cut Pro 2 studio and the intergrations I am leaning the Apple Mac route now as it offers all the formats support as well.

And that’s Adobe’s problem – to busy with application integration and a ‘pretty’ interface rather than add the professional features the application needs. Apple has a good interface and many of the features, Avid has all the features but the interface?…well you kinda warm to it after a while.
