    Hi, all —

I’ve tried searching the posts and didn’t find anything on this, but maybe I’m not searching well. Anyway, here’s my problem.

I’ve edited a sequence in Premiere Pro 1.5. I render it out, and everything plays back groovy from Premiere, and the AVI plays fine in Windows Media Player.

Then, I author a DVD with Encore. When I preview the DVD, I find that after a Premiere title plays, the playback freezes for a second or so, and then starts back up. Audio is not affected; it’s only the video that freezes. And when the video picks back up, it’s still in synch with the audio.

Thinking it might just be a problem in the DVD previewer, I’ve burned a DVD of the project. It does exactly the same thing that it did in the previewer.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!
    – Dex

PS: I’m also posting this in the Encore Forum.

    Hey, all —

In case anyone else was having this problem — it’s because Premiere “optimizes” its stills. There’s an option to not optimize that needs to be checked. Encore doesn’t deal with the optimized stills.

    Thanks for reading!

I dont understand how “optimize stills” can affect an AVI…
Another option would be to export Pro’s timeline as Mpeg 2 elementary streams. I do this often with photo montages without issues in Encore.

Apparently, something in the way that the still is turned into an AVI causes Encore to kind of freak out. I’ve tried this fix, and it works. Don’t quite understand why, either, but hey, mine is not to ask why, mine is just to find a workaround!
