Premiere Pro to AVID MC6.5
We started a documentary project on Pr and need to move it to Avid. Footage is shot on XDCam and AVCHD. We were advised to bring in everything and transcode in Avid, because AMA linking can become troublesome on larger projects. So now we have the problem with exporting and bringing in Sequences.
The AAF export from Pr CC does not work properly. Avid thinks it is DV-Pal size, and will not relink. We have tried exporting XML to FCP7 and using Automatic Duck to create AAF for Avid. This works better, but Avid will still not relink to the footage – and I guess this is because Avid treats the footage as MXF files with separated video and audio, while Premiere refers to a single file containing both video and audio.
Tried relinking in Premiere to the Avid media files, and then create the AAF, but it still doesn’t work. Also tried to use AME to transcode to DnxHD, but Avid cannot recognise audio on those files, so that is not a solution either…
