    Dear Fellow Premiere users,

I work in a performing arts college here in the middle of England, UK, and am currently trying to make life easier in the editing suite.

We run Windows XP Pro workstations running Adobe Premiere Pro v7.0 (yes, I know Premiere Pro 2.0 is out now!) and its very hard to get these miscriants that we call students to get through the editing process of their films/projects/whatever as fast as possible.

I have begun by removing all the templates and we have a DV PAL Standard 48Hz template ready for them to click and use, but the trouble that I’m having is finding an editable field/file/whatever that lets me change the default location. At the moment, the Location field displays a location on the harddrive, which the students do not have access too, I would like to change this by default to their network workspaces – is this possible?

Any help is much appreciated. Anything in changing the registry is out of the question since its busy enough as it is!

    Many thanks,

    David Nagel

No preference to change the location, that I’m aware of.

You can try this. Move the folder to the location where it will be shared. Then in the Premiere directory where it was previously located, right click > new > shortcut, browse to the location of the shared folder, then rename the shortcut with the exact same name as the original template folder.

Let me know if that doesn’t work out.

    Cheers,

    Vince
