Adobe Premiere just stopped working. Video won’t play. Same video clip was playing before. It is an AE project that I was going back and forth and editing when it happened. The very same clip plays fine in FCP Express. Other clips play fine in quicktime player. Older projects have same problem. I even reinstalled.

    thanks.

    Is it just one clip?

If so “Premiere Pro stopped working” could probably be re-phrased. One clip not playing back is more than likely media-related, not application-based.

Have you re-rendered the clip in question?

Did you delete the old clip from the PPro project and re-import it in case it was an issue with relinking to the replacement clip?

Thanks very much for the response. It was anything played out of premiere. Same clip played in FCP. That’s why I was sure it had to do with premiere. I found the problem. Under preferences there is a media tab. It shows the path to the media cache. There is a big button labeled, clean. That took care of it. I had been working with a composition from after effects, going back and forth editing it. That apparently builds up something in the cache and bogs down. That was new to me.
    Thanks again for the help.
