  Premiere Pro slow performance solution

  Hi all,
  I’ve just found this out and thought I’d share it online in case it applies to someone else looking for a solution or to newer version of Premiere.
  Timeline performance was really slow in p-pro CS3; playback took several seconds to stop and zooming in and out was slow/sluggish
  I discovered it was all caused because I’d put a .PNG mask on another track and LOCKED THE LAYER. When I unlocked the layer, playback was as quick and snappy as usual.
  Very strange!
  I hope that helps someone else in the same situation
