May 21, 2013 at 1:18 pmwell, you know, its just my… wild anticipation getting the better of me.
FWIW, I’m cutting an EA games trailer onsite, on PPro CS6 (not even the golden 7) –
and I fecking loovvve it.All I want to do is curl up with this software and take it with me to old age.
really, really good round up of all the issues raised to this point here:

May 21, 2013 at 2:32 pm[Craig Seeman] “Until May 24th at least which is when Avid explains to NASDAQ what their plan to remain listed is (including a schedule for delivering a report that calls off the class action law suits).”
His software won’t suddenly de-activate because of this.

I’m just curious. Have you ever played with MC again? Once I got into the grove, I really began to enjoy it.

May 21, 2013 at 4:23 pmyeah, I never touched 5.5 – I just thought it looked abominable.
It’s just the feeling of banging between PS, AE and PPRO6 (interface brightness right down to the bottom please) – I mean, where has this been all my life?As to Avid – It’s coming – I’ve got a metric tonne of tutorials, mate doing another extended ‘which way is up’ session…

“Ah, yes. It’s truly amazing. They grow a full four or five feet off the ground, like big berry bushes, except instead of berries, the fruit are little USB sticks.

I thought the same thing, until I saw 7 in action for an hour and a half.
A lot of the changes they made in 7 are small, but they’re very significant. And some of them actually are pretty significant- like the changes to the timeline and the project browsing. When you put them all together they add up to an enormous improvement to the efficiency of the overall workflow. Seeing that demo made me think that a project could be finished in 7 at least 40% faster than it could in 6.
It’s just an awful crying shame that the next Premiere has such a huge dark cloud hanging over it now. Because it really is amazing.

May 23, 2013 at 7:28 pmI totally agree – even though 6 is much nicer than 5.5 it still lacks a lot of basic editing features like moving a clip up or down etc. The upcoming version has added so many of these day to day features and looks like the first NLE to truly match or better FCP7 in its usefulness assuming that it is relatively bug free and stable.
