Premiere Pro: Nonsmooth Dissolve Transitions, Why is That?
On Premiere Pro, when I put two different unconnected clips together and add a dissolve transition in between for smoothness, parts of the following & previous scenes that were cut out appear in the fade.
Why is that? Could this be fixed?

Are the clips from a longer piece of material?
Sounds like your clips arent seperate.
The disolve needs additional frames after the end and additional frames before the start.
To fix trim the end of the first clip back half the disolve duration. Then trim the start of the second clip the same amount.Pat Horridge

To try to add to that explaination…you need handles. Meaning, if you do a 30 frame dissolve, you need 30 frames AFTER your last frame in order to make this smooth. If after 15 frames the image changes to the next shot, then that will show up in the transition.
If you want a 30 frame dissolve, you need to go to the last frame, and then back up 30 frames, THEN mark it as OUT.
