Hi all this problem started recently. Up till this point, my video files have been loading proper (albeit with a bit of lag here and there), however when I opened up one project to tweak, all video files show the “media pending” screen and have been stuck in that state since. This problem isn’t exclusive to this project file, as other older project files I have tested with have the same problem. Even creating a new premiere pro file and importing footage will still give the same error.

    I have tried:
    – Deleting cache
    – Disable/Reenable
    – Adjusting and cutting clips
    – Dividing clips into bins
    – Restarting the computer
    – Reinstalling Premiere Pro
    – Running as Admin
    – Closing all open bins and sequences save for the one to tweak

    All to no avail.

Hey Jim. What source camera are you shooting with and what codec is it using? Or is it just all types of mixed clips and still images? Sorry, this is high-level, just trying to minimize the variables before I guess. If it’s buggy on certain footage from a certain camera, you may try transcoding the footage and replacing it. If it is in fact just ALL of your source footage, images, animations, video clips, that’s a different story. Let me know!

What kind of storage do you have and what are the read/write speeds on it?

Have you also tried resetting preferences and plugins? Even after a reinstall those might persist, so I would add that to your list of standard troubleshooting. Just hold Alt + Shift while starting the app.

I believe it was a Nikon D5600 and a GoPro Hero 7 I shot with on that project in mov and mp4 respectively, can’t rmb from the top of my head bit the problem has been happening regardless of codec or file type, even to a singular piece of footage on new projects I created as tests.

Yes, I have tried that. The problem still persists.

Hi all, to update, the problem has been solved, at least momentarily. Deleting a file called igdrcl64.dll in the system32 folder has resolved the issue. It is an intel driver file that is causing havoc in premiere pro. The same file was known to have caused issues with Da Vinci Resolve as well, with a similar file igdrclneo64.dll.

Wow. That’s good Jim! I’ll have to remember that file!
