Premiere Pro Flash
Posted by Chuck Bolland on June 12, 2007 at 4:05 pmI am attempting to output my first files in Flash. I have captured my files using Matrox but have taken those files into Premiere DV and completed my editing and rendered my edited work. I am not attempting to save in Flash. I get to within 3 frames of the end and they system locks. Anyone know what’s with this?

June 12, 2007 at 4:46 pmHave you tried just export a few seconds on a sequence? Does that work? Can you export the last 10 seconds of your sequence. The first 10 seconds?

June 12, 2007 at 9:21 pmJust rendered last 10 seconds, or 455 frames. The encoding stopped at 449 frames and went into “Exporting Movie” mode. So length of files doesn’t seem to matter. This was an .avi rendered in Matrox. I’ll try it again with the same file that was rendered as a DV.
The exporting movie phase takes a long time.
Also, a DV file of 204 frames stops at 200 and it goes into the Exporting Movie mode and while a file is created on the hard drive, there doesn’t seem to be a video production there.

June 13, 2007 at 2:08 pmYou aren’t doing anything wrong. FLV files won’t play back without an FLV player, even with the Flash player installed. Download the free Wimpy FLV player:
https://www.wimpyplayer.com/products/wimpy_standalone_flv_player.html
and your Flash movies will magically appear!
And I totally disagree with Steve re: Matrox. It’s a great system (when configured and installed correctly). -

June 13, 2007 at 4:42 pmOK. I will give the download a try and see what happens. I need to get a handle on this ASAP because I’ve got a meeting in Spokane with a client on Friday and among other proposals will be the inclusion of Flash videos on his web site.

June 13, 2007 at 4:43 pmPS: While this might address the play-back issue, I’ll still have to find a solution to why my encoding stops in the last 3 or 4 frames.

June 13, 2007 at 5:41 pmMy guess is that your whole movie is there and the rendered frames indicator stops early. By the way, even though FLV files won’t play directly with the browser-based Flash player plug-in, they will be accepted by web site creation software packages like Dreamweaver. Once integrated into the web site, they will play back normally in a browser.
