Premiere Pro file looks all wrong
Hello,
I have just opened up a Pr file that I haven’t used in three months. It didn’t ask me to relink anything (which it shouldn’t, because the links are still in the same place) but when I try to view the video, all I get is the audio paired with a messy collage of weird looking snippets. I can see my original footage in the project panel, but when I load a clip into the source panel I get the same mess.
The only changed that has happened, is that I have updated the program (the file was still build in Cs6).
Any help would be appreciated, I’m still very new as a Pr user…

I would start by doing a few things:
(1) Delete your Media Cache in Premiere Pro

(2) Double check that the source file plays correctly outside of Premiere (using Quicktime or VLC), it’s possible the source file may have gotten corrupted
(3) If on a Mac, repair permissions at the folder level of source media
(4) Restart your machineSee if any of those move you closer to a resolution (no pun intended 😉
And may be doing all of them, not just one, that helps alleviate your problem. Premiere has done this to me sometimes as well. It’s almost like it gets fussy and them throws a tantrum on you!
