    Greets,

I have an issue when I export media from Premiere Pro CS4 (using Vista Ultimate). The problem is basically that it doesn’t. Typically, from what I understand, when I export it should automatically open the Adobe Media Encoder and queue up the project media I am wishing to encode. It doesn’t. However, if I open the Adobe Media Encoder first then export, it works fine. Am I missing something? Anyone have any idea why the Encoder program does not start up correctly?

The steps I’ve taken is to update both Encoder and Premier to latest versions (4.02.002 and 4.02 respectively), I’ve tried Un/reinstalling both programs and reapplying all updates. I’ve googled for quite a while and nobody seems to have this issue. Any ideas?

It sounds like AME is not remembering its settings, or they are corrupt.

    Two things to try:
    1. Open AME from the Start menu. “Restore” it so that it is not “Maximized” and then move it a little so that its position is changed. Close AME and try exporting from PPro and see if AME pops up in its last position.
    2. If the above does not work, delete the AME preference file. AME will re-create it next time it runs.

    Cheers
    Eddie
