    Hey. 🙂

Whenever I import a video to Premiere Pro (CS3 right now), on the preview, the clip is well positioned and sized. But on the right panel and when I export it, it’s always disproportionated and cut out.. I tried all the different ratios and settings.. I can’t figure it out… it’s making me mad!

    Please help?

    Here’s an example photo:

You will need to select the correct project setup preset.

In CS3 that means creating a new project and selecting DV widescreen and not 4:3 as it seems to be in you screen capture.

Ultimately, the format you select will depend on what you are exporting for at the end.

    Thanks..

I tried all presets.. none of them seemed to work. :/

    Any other suggestion?

The project you setup in your screenshot is 4:3, the footage showing in the source window is 16:9.

So, you need to select a 16:9 project, most likely DV widescreen 48k.

It also looks like the footage is PAL (25P). If you are in the US, you’ll need to convert it to NTSC first before your import it.

If you are in a PAL country, then make sure you select DV PAL widescreen.

I am having the same export problems. the footage in HDV. the project setting is correct, not 4×3. Absolutely positive of that. I still get the 4×3 “squished” export, no matter what setting and I have tried every one of them. If i bring the export into squeeze it seems to fix it.
