  • Premiere Pro CS6 Titles not updating

    Here is the scenario

In Premiere Pro CS6 open a new project (any size etc.)
    Go to title new
Do not name the title just click ok (the program will name it title 1)
Create a title and close the titler.
Drag the new title from the project panel onto the time line.
You should see it’s name as – “title 1”
In the project panel click on “title 1” to change it’s name
Change the name to anything you like.
NOTICE it does not change the name in the time line. It does not update the name change you make in the project panel to the title in the time line.
Is this a bug in the program?

No not a bug but as designed.
If you want to have the name changed in the TL also rename in the timeline or Replace with clip from bin.

If you duplicate a title in a Bin and then rename it the new name will follow it when you put it in the timeline. Pretty much the name you give it when it’s born is the name that’s going to have once it hits the timeline. Makes sense given how you need the right data to follow that title for a unique instance and protects it from accidental renaming in the Bin.
