Premiere Pro CS6 cannot play avi with MJPG codec
Hi everybody!
I have installed Premiere Pro CS6 and wanted to import an avi file exported from 3Dmax 2009. The file IS imported, but it is black in the Monitor (Source Monitor, Program Monitor… everywhere).
1. So I have checked the Media Info in VLC, and it showed that the codec of that file is MJPG (not MJPEG with an E, but MJPG. I don’t know if that’s relevant, but better to say about it, I think)
2. Sherlock – the codec detective, says that apparently MJPEG is installed on my system (text file in attachment)
3. But I have downloaded this decodec once again and installed it. Just for sure. Then system restart… and still not good.
4. Then I have installed k-lite 9.2… still not good.
5. I have tried converting to another format, by some converter, and it worked fine… but that’s not a real solution, right? 🙂
I have run out of concepts 🙁
Do someone had those problems? Or similar? And maybe have a nice solution 🙂 ? Please, please, please.
PS: system: Win 7 64-bit
EDIT: I have noticed, that those AVI files which I’m talking about have also black thumbnails in Windows explorer. When I convert them to mp4 – the thumbnail is normal… Hope that this will help in diagnosing 🙂
