Premiere Pro cs5.5 rendering/preview issue
So I just recently got Premiere Pro cs5.5 on my new 27″ iMac. I have OSX Lion and 3.2ghz quad core processors. 16GB ram. The thing is a beast. Anyways, I digress.
I have recently started editing again and my timeline is fine until I hit “render entire work area” to see how it looks. After I do that, all the clips get all glitched up and kind of meld into each other and look like they were sloppily edited when they were fine before I hit the enter to render the entire work area. Does anyone have any suggestions?Also, my sequence settings are: 30fps, 1440 by 1080 and it is doing it to all kinds of different clips. Hell, it is doing it to STILLS that I put in the video…
Any help would be appreciated!

What is the source footage from? Straight from camera or some exotic codec/source?
Right click your sequence and select “Sequence Settings” and let us know your preview file format.
Alternately you can “clear the cobwebs” by going to Sequence > Delete Render Files.
