Hi all. Everytime I close Premiere Pro CS5 I have to restart my computer in order to reopen it. When I click the icon nothing happens – no splash screen or indication of loading whatsoever. However, if I simply restart my computer everything works fine. I’ve been wrestling with this problem for about a week now and its starting to waste too much valuable time. I read that some users of CS3 and CS4 had the same problem and they deleted some preferences but I’m not quite sure exactly what to delete or if its even valid in my situation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah – I’m running CS5 Master Collection on Windows 7 Ultimate. All other Adobe apps are running just fine and Premiere just started doing this after months of flawless operation.

    Thanks.

To delete the preferences and go back to the default settings, restart Premiere Pro while holding down Ctrl-Alt-Shift.

    …or delete this folder:
    \Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro

Also, make sure that you’ve installed the most recent updates. You can do this by choosing Help > Updates within any application (such as Adobe Bridge).
