I am running Windows 7 on a solid state drive along with some fast hard drives….12 GB of RAM…all works well but there is one very annoying behavior…
If i switch out of Prem Pro to edit a photo, or check an email… and then go back to premiere the program takes about 10 seconds or so, and sometimes longer to be ready to respond…i get the little windows circular spinning icon indicating the pc is busy…after a while i get my normal arrow back and can resume editing…

this may only be 10 seconds or so but if you are moving back and forth between programs checking audio or photo things related to your project it is very annoying….
Do others have this behaviour or is just that i have some setting or so not proper?

Thanks in advance for any info!

    Hey Stan,

I had that same problem using cs5, the way people have worked around it was by disabling their antivirus programs such a “Avast”.

If this solves the problem, do at your own risk, it never safe especially on PC to have antivirus off.
