Hi there guys, having some Premiere trouble, so some help would be appreciated.

Been editing SD footage for years now, no problem, got a high-def cam for my birthday and it’s been a bit of a nightmare since. I was originally editing in 1080, but importing the footage caused Premiere to completely crash, so I converted my mts. files to 720 and managed to import about 30 clips into my project and edit about 2 and a half minutes of footage before I started getting problems again. Now whenever I try to render anything, or sometimes even watch the project or add stuff to the timeline, I am either presented with the message:

    Error compiling movie. Unknown Error.

or Premiere just crashes. I’ve got plenty of space reserved for scratch disks so I don’t think that’s the problem, although Premier has displayed the message that the system is running low on memory.

Any help? Would just like to get back to work, got a lot more footage to upload. 🙂

If you open a completely new project and import just one clip, add a title, and, say, a fade to black – will it work in terms of scrubbing the timeline, rendering and outputting to a file?
