Premiere Pro CS3 Sound Repeat Issue
Okay so here’s the skinny:
So a client needs some HDV footage edited down. I only do SD at home so I had to borrow his Sony HVD-HD1000U to capture to my computer. At first I was having issues with the batch capture itself. So after several tries I ended up doing a live capture of everything I needed. It finally worked. I put a clip on the timeline and was scrubbing through and noticed the audio wasn’t synced. Further investigation showed that the entire captured clip, restarts the audio from the beginning, at exactly the middle of the clip. I opened the Movie Clip in Windows Media Player for playback and it works fine. It’s Premiere CS3 where I have the issues.
I tried using new project files with different settings and it still interpolates the footage exactly the same. Any help would be most appreciated.

Clean the media cache from the prefs. Close and relaunch ppro. Allow the caching conforming to finish then edit. 😉

I did that and still no dice. When I cleaned the cache the audio and video both did not conform. I did manually through my media cache folder. Both tracks conformed, but gave me the same problem.

CS3 was some ago for me so I’m not sure about PPro being required to reboot after a media cache cleansing…
If all you really need is audio maybe if you have soundbooth or another app to just get audio out. Then sync them in PPro…?
just trying to think outside the box? VLC has an export/convert option… Maybe try that for the audio?
The media cache is definitely the culprit. Maybe a reinstall is required?

did you ever find a solution to this – it just happened to me – the same sound repeated every minute or so.
