Ok group no one replied to my last question about a massive render issue and now PP is crashing after rendering for 20 min. complete grey screen like kernal panic.

Anyone have any ideas, this computer Mac osx 10.74 was a complete clean install I don’t have a lot of apps on it just this unstable CS6 and a handful of other apps. I’m running the sister computer on 10.68 and it’s going ok. So can anyone offer any suggestions?

This might be a hardware issue. Try running a memory test [link].

Do you have a Mercury-supported GPU installed? If so, do you get more stability running in software-only mode?

ya are you running a quadro 4000 or some other nvidia card?

one of mine needs to be returned, as it kernel panics on longer
exported sequences, but its twin in another room, same exact
    setup is stable.

Hi I am on a mac laptop 2012 17″ with the AMD or ATI 6770 on os 10.7 adobe allows Open CL to run the mercury engine on this particular video card… I had to swap drives and am now on an older 10.7.3 and so far so good… Not sure if you’re on Mac but with 10.7.4 and Adobe CS6 there are a few weird issues such as:

the audio going to grey not allowing you to hear anything.
the crashing of premiere doing mundane tasks
