I have installed GTX 680 for Mac card on 12 Core Mac Pro running 10.8.4(Removed the ATI 5770 card). Went into PPC and it did not see the cuda option for rendering in project settings. Went to the Mac system and there is no driver installed for this card although the card is recognized by the system. Went to Nvida site and could not find a current driver. My IMAC running same OS and a ATI card has Cuda driver 5.0.61 driver installed , Are these drivers universal and will this work on my Mac Pro? Is there another separate driver?

If you go to nvidia support site, look for the k5000 Mac drivers. They work with the gtx680 Mac.

You didn’t mention whether or not you had the CUDA drivers installed on your Mac Pro. If you don’t have them installed, you’ll need them. They’re the same drivers you have on our iMac. Get them here.

You can continue to use the stock Apple-provided nVidia drivers for your card, or you can use nVidia’s if you like. Grab them here.

    Hi Bob,

I’m having a similar problem. I installed the CUDA driver v5 and the web driver. Premiere now sees the GTX680 as GPU and OpenCL. Is one of these better than the other? But, AfterEffects still only sees the card via OpenCL. Does this matter? Thanks for the help.

    Hi Mike,

You can enable PProCC to use CUDA even if the card is not supported under Project Settings. FYI, I had no problems with my card immediately after I put in the card into my MacPro.
