    Mac Pro 12 core/Kona 3 system…testing capture…DNxHD145 audio but no video…

So I’m testing out PPCC and I’m really excited about the ability to capture DNx145 quicktimes….I have installed all the plugins from AJA, but still can’t get PPCC to capture video at DNx145. the files themselves, although they are correctly created as DNx, are showing up black (like no codec support) and the AJA plugin states I must use 10.4.5, but I only see 10.4.4…so what am I missing? I can capture in VTR Exchange just fine, and FCP/AVID as well, but not in PPCC…any ideas?

    Hi Joe,

    Here’s a few ideas:

Make sure to download and install the latest 10.4.5 driver and plugins from AJA. Here’s the links:

    Driver: https://www.aja.com/en/support/software/

    Plugins: https://www.aja.com/en/products/kona-3g/#support

And download the latest Avid QuickTime Codecs (LE 2.3.8)

    https://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/Avid-QuickTime-Codecs-LE-2-3-8?popup=true&NewLang=en&DocType=1450&q=Avid+Codecs+2.3.8&x=20&y=9

    Hope this does the trick.

thanks for the response….there is no 10.4.5 driver for the Kona 3 (or 3G for that matter since I tried this same workflow on another system with a 3G card) from AJA for the Kona..there is only 10.4.4, there is the 10.4.5 PLUGIN for Adobe, which I have installed and rebooted so it sees everything correctly.

I have Avid Symphony v6.0.3.3 installed on the Mac as well which installs the Codecs natively in the AVID. I cannot install the LE package for some reason and I’m troubleshooting that atm.

I can capture DNxHD145 through the VTR Excahnge, but the file info shows that it is a DNxHD 709 codec…but it does work in Premiere fine. I would love to just get DNx capture to work inside the app….

I am in touch with Adobe support on this as well…but if you have any other sugestins, lay them on me..I can’t be the only one with this issue.

one more thing I should mention, I am using the trial for testing purposes before we go and by a team license..but i wouldn’t think that DNx wouldn’t work in the trial as it should be a full version.

and for some reason, the Codecs I downloaded didn’t install, and this link does, so we’ll see if this does the trick…
