Premiere Pro CC – Can’t Manipulate any Audio within One Specific Track
I just upgraded to Premiere Pro CC and ran into a problem on an old project with one of my audio tracks. I have 7 tracks of audio, and 6 of them work fine, but when I select a clip in track 4 a line shows up (track:volume) that allows me to manipulate volume over the whole track but doesn’t allow me to do anything else. I can’t extend or cut a clip, or move a clip.

Screenshot of the track expanded, and include the entire timeline panel. It’d be nice to see what switches you have on/off etc.

You’ll see a little tab at the start of Audio 4 that says “Track:Volume”. I can click that and it has a drop down with “Volume” and “Panner”. But I’m just trying to go back to cutting up the audio.

Oh, you just have track keyframing turned on. This allows you to keyframe a track rather than a clip but it also blocks clip movement. Under the label, “Audio 4” on the left, click the keyframe (diamond) and select clip keyframes.

I’m having the same issue but after reading this I looked to see if I have a key frame on and I don’t.
