  Premiere Pro 5.5 Cannot Capture HDV

  Please Help!!!!!

  I just bought a new editing machine and Adobe production suite CS 5.5. The basic requirements say a dual core processor and 4GB ram. My new machine has two 6 core 2.4GHz processors and 16GB of ram.

  When I try to capture 720p HDV footage, it starts out looking fine and captures one or two clips without issue. Suddenly, the video will just start dropping out, going to black screen, then back to the video and back to black screen again continuously.

  By restarting the computer and relaunching Premiere, I can capture one or two more clips and then it starts happening again.

  It doesn’t matter whether I am capturing via firewire from the camera or by component into my Matrox MX02LE box. The results are the same. It has to be either the computer or the Adobe software.

  Computer specs:
  HP Z600 Workstation
  Two Intel Xeon E5645 2.4GHz processors
  16GB RAM
  Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
