Premiere Pro 2021 R3D default color space change. Help.
Hi All
In a recent update it seems Premiere has changed the way it imports RED footage. Now whenever we import .r3d files it imports them in the REDWideGamutRGB color space with a Log3G10 gamma curve regardless of what settings were selected in camera.
Is there a way to change this? We have a fast turnaround workflow, in which a lot of our client projects do not require a heavy colour grade. As such we regularly shoot using REDgamma and finish it with minor adjustments in Lumetri. (We’re shooting on a RED Epic – MX which uses the legacy color workflow)
This change has suddenly added a chunk of time to every job we shoot as the only way we can return the footage to REDgamma is to manually adjust the color and gamma dropdown settings for each individual clip in the source effect controls. Even clicking the “As shot” button doesn’t work. This is very frustrating.
I’d like to think that adobe wouldn’t lock you into such a restrictive workflow, but I’m begining to think that may be the case.
Anybody know a way around this?
Thanks
