    Hi Creatives,

Currently i’m working on a documentary trailer in premiere.

Most footage is ProRes 422 which runs surprisingly smooth on my mid 2014 macbook pro.

Now today i added some new footage of which a few time & hyperlapses (all JPEG images) and some FS7 files.
Everything was running fine until out of nowhere the timeline starting lagging like crazy.
Now even when i pre-render my sequence and the whole timeline is green it still lags.
I’ve tried deleting certain files, checking all my settings, deleted cache but nothing worked.

I’m working from an external 4TB Seagate HDD, i still have 2TB left so that can’t be the problem too.

I also tried running the project on a faster Windows PC and there i had the same issues, so it really is something in the project and not my specs.

Does anyone know why this is happening? All help would be really appreciated since my deadline is soon..

    Mac specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014)
    2,8 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Intel Iris 1536 MB

    Thanks in advance.

    Greets,

    Kevin

If you’re working directly with the JPEGS instead of a rendered file you’re going to encounter a world of lag.

Here’s a tutorial showing the hyperlapse process for editing in Premiere:
