I really hope that Adobe capatalizes on the After Effects 7 release in a bundled state before NAB. Once NAB hits and Apple practically gives away their Final Cut Studio – Universal Version:

I cannot see Adobe making a large return on Premiere Pro 2’s back. The cost of the upgrade is not in line with the new feature set. Alot of things that most people were not asking for.

In my opinion…too little too late. Thats a shame because everyone had very high hopes for this upgrade after the very long wait. I’m sure its a case of the marketing pressure to get it out the door. Not the actual development team.

Adobe knows this as well right Jacob? Spin control to say the least.

Maybe at NAB there will be news of Premiere Pro 3

As a longtime PC user, and someone who was hoping that PP 2 would be a home run, I find your comments both troubling and persuasive. The pricing on FCP Studio Universal had me checking and re-checking. It’s pretty generous, esp. in contrast to the way Adobe is pricing the Studio upgrades for those of us who own most of the pieces, but not the “studio.”

It makes sense in a business way, I guess. Apple sells hardware, Adobe only software. But as far as the end user is concerned, it’s more reason to look at FCP.

Indeed. Or even to look around at what else’s on offer on the Windows platform – Avid Pro HD, Avid Liquid, Vegas, Edius, no doubt others … not to mention ReelDVD, DVD Workshop … I have a lot of the Adobe apps but don’t qualify for a bundle. It might make sense to keep Photoshop and AE going, and look around for alternatives for the rest …
