Does anyone know what might be a resolution to the following?

    some background

we shot footage on sony HD Cameras, not sure the shutter speeds and settings.

I edited the footage using the appropriate settings I believe it was the Sony 60i HD preset in Premiere.

I exported the files as movies and then reassembled the clips on the timeline for mastering.

I then created a DVD from the timeline in P Pro 2.

this is where it gets a little sketchy.

The audio/video synching looks fine on my Computer when played as a DVD, but it looks bad on my Sony Full HD Projection TV as played on the DVD upconvert player.

Does this have to do with the HD tv??? and if so, what can I do to make sure that this DVD plays on as many TVs as possible.

    Clear as Mud?

let me know if you need any more info,

    thanks!

Is the audio sync’d on playback without the upconversion? I’m guessing that might be the culprit.

How far out of sync is it? The video could be delayed a few frames by the scalers built into the TV and the DVD player. Not too much you can do about that – perhaps you should feed SD video to the TV instead of upconverted video. There shouldn’t be a big difference in quality, and it may be a frame or two closer in sync, since you are bypassing the upconverter.

I was thinking that it had something to do with the TV, but I did not know. then I thought even if it played well on the computer, what would be the best way to pitch the show. If there are issues with Upconverting then I would have to make sure the viewer watches it on a non-HD DVD player.

One other thing I can do is play on my other non-upconvert DVD player that is hooked up to the TV to see what other variables I can eliminate.

The S video is another idea, but using the other DVD player might be one way to eliminate some of the questions.

    thx

it is off ever so slightly….annoyingly slightly, as you probably know from editing and viewing…it was one of those deals where it messes with your head because it is not so far off that it is off, but just enough to make you realize something is not quite right….

I have some other people trying to watch on their HD TV’s and I thought that they had similar issues….

I should have them watch on a computer DVD player and maybe a non-upcomverting DVD player just to see how we want to deal with this.

    thx
