premiere monitor only displays when timeline is playing
I’m hoping someone here can help me. I’m working on a pretty heavy deadline here and this is certainly not the time for messing around! I’m using adobe Premiere Pro CS3 3.0.1. About a week ago as I was working on an extremely large project (about 2.5 hours in length) things in premiere started to slow down drastically. Although at that time I was still able to see video when I was editing. Now upon switching to my new project I can only see moving video in the monitor window when I hit play (spacebar) and no other time. Whether I’m dragging the slider in the timeline or advanceing in the timeline using the left/right arrows only a stilll image is displayed. Also, when I try and preview files in the source window the same problems occur. I have ample space on my hard drives (80GB+) and I have been running myself ragged the last couple days trying to remedy the problem. 2 days ago I wasn’t even able to capture anything as my computer would freeze following any attempts. I finally used system recovery to reverse my computer’s setup back a month when everything was honky-dory. That took care of the capturing issues but Now I’m left with this. Also everything for some reason requires rendering, regardless of whether any effects have been added or not. And if the video is unrendered and I try to play it all I get is a black window in the monitor. Does anyone have any answers? I’ve scanned for viruses using AVG and found nothing! ARGH!
