This is sort of an odd issue, but premiere lately has simply been incorrectly playing audio files. I will import something in this case a music track in .aif and it will seem fine but randomly it will just stop playing correctly. The waveforms display properly but the actual audio is not representative of the file. It just skips around and does bizarre things. I’ve tried reimporting etc but it seems that once it decides it doesn’t like a file it just won’t return to reading it properly. Is this common?

I experience it as well…just hitting pause then play again generally fixes the issue. Hope Adobe fixes this little known bug.

I had a similar problem, the audio started playing on the empty part of the track. I have a one minute gap between two aiff files on the same track, it would start playing the first file during the gap. I had to use the mute automation in between files.
