Premiere HDV setting
Posted by Allby Corry on March 12, 2010 at 1:23 pmHi,
If I need to edit HDV 1440×1080 with Decklink exterme HD and Premiere CS4 in which configuration should open the project? Blackmagic’s setting only show HD 1920×1080.
Thanks..

March 14, 2010 at 10:50 pmHi Allby
When working with HDV video at 1440 x 1080, Premiere automatically scales this back up to 1920 x 1080 for playback. Therefore, you can choose a Blackmagic timeline at 1920 x 1080, and your footage will playback at 1920 x 1080 through the cards outputs.

There is some loss of resolution in this scale?

March 20, 2010 at 7:20 amSome, but that’s more a matter of shooting on HDV vs a native 1920×1080 format.

March 29, 2010 at 4:49 pmAgain, you need to use a BMD setting. If they have it, it will work. If you can’t find one that will play back in real time, you may have to render, but the short answer is YES. It isn’t tied to the footage, it’s tied to the settings file.
