I’m having an export issue with a Premiere project, but I’m not sure if the problem is with the program and maybe my setup or if I’m just butting up against the limitations of my computer, which could very well be the case. I would just blame my computer, but I have been using it for a while working on similar projects with the same source footage and have not had this issue before. I will list all the applicable details I can think of below.

    The issue:

Exporting an HD 1080p Quicktime is taking about 3 hours and 40 min for a 1 hour sequence that has already been rendered (which also took a very long time).

    My Project:

    Sequence/Footage:

    XDCAM 1080/30P

    Video Tracks: 2

    1- XDCAM video
    and
1- Nested sequence containing one track with a slide and one track of a color matte to fill background.

    Audio Tracks: 3

2- Stereo audio from source footage

1- .WAV from Levelator for a total of about 8 min spread throughout timeline.

    Media Storage:

    External FW800 Drive

    Exporting to:

    Media Drive (FW800 from above)

    My Computer:

    Early 2011 Macbook Pro – https://support.apple.com/kb/sp619

    Memory: 4G

    Processor: 2.3 GHz

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory (Memory available to Mac OS X may vary depending on graphics needs. Minimum graphics memory usage is 384MB).

Thank you if you have read this far! Please let me know if/how I can fix this or if this is to be expected with my computer.

    Thanks!

H264 is still a bit tough codec to encode. The bottleneck just might be your computer. A 3 hour encode on a 1 hour movie isn’t that impossible.
